GSHPA Membership

The Association has been formed to serve as a focal point for organisations with business interests in the Ground Source Heat Pump industry. 

(Note - Manufacturers: The Heat Pump Association (HPA) is the primary association dealing with manufacturing issues.)

Purpose of the Association

  • To provide benefits to members.

  • To share best practice and develop and disseminate industry approved technical standards, training criteria and codes of practice.

  • To promote the highest standards of integrity, professionalism and technical competence within the Ground Source Energy Industry to ensure consumer confidence.

  • To represent the Ground Source Heating & Cooling industry, promoting sustainable use of the technology and engaging with government and other bodies to influence relevant policymaking.


All members are expected to abide by a Code of Ethical Practice - backed up by a disciplinary procedure.

Members are promoted as the best choice for ground source heat services and it is hoped they will enjoy, not only a financial gain in joining, but a sense of co-operation with others involved in the implementation of solutions to global warming and resource depletion. 

THE BENEFITS FOR MEMBERS INCLUDE:

Increased Customer Confidence resulting from

  • membership of an Association with standards
  • a much publicised Code of Ethical Practice

Promotion and Publicity & an opportunity for an increase in market share through, for example:

  • inclusion on the widely distributed List of Members
  • inclusion on the Association's website - which is linked to that of the NEF

Opportunity to input to the drawing up of technical standards, etc

Opportunity to influence government policies through membership of a lobbying Association

Use of the Association's logo

Keeping up to date through, for example

  • monthly e- newsletters
  • frequent mailings from the Secretariat to include
    • market information
    • information from BERR (formerly DTI) and other organisations
    • updates on technical standards, government initiatives and equipment providers

Networking with the industry in both the UK and abroad 

Invitation to trade events, and discounted entry fees etc where applicable.
